Schaap Island
Visible as a rocky outcrop / peninsula to the right of the house. Worth a visit! There are many benches to relax and you may be lucky enough to see a passing whale or pod of dolphins
Schaap Island Hiking Trail
More of a meander than a strenuous hike. Level: Easy. Starts at Schaap Eiland all the way to the Main Beach. The trail provides a beautiful perspective of the town
Koeskatgat
One of the hidden secrets in Yzer! Can be found midway down the Schaap Island Hiking Trail, where you will see beautiful rock formations carved out by the sea.
16 Mile Beach Trail
A 27 km walk along SA's longest uninterrupted coastal line, starting from the Main Beach into Langebaan. If going all the way is not for you, its worth wandering down the beach for a portion of the walk
Bewarea Labyrinth
Perfect spot for a panoramic view of Yzerfontein overlooking Pearl Bay and Dassen Island. The labyrinth was created by the Yzerfontein Conservancy and can be located on the corner of Dassen Island Drive and Atlantic Drive.
!Khwa ttu San Cultural Centre
On the R27, just before the Yzerfontein exit. A cultural heritage site, dedicated to the indigenous San people.

West Coast Horse Trails
Fancy riding a horse on the beach?
West Coast Horse Trails is situated on the farm Wolwefontein on the R315 between Darling and Yzerfontein, offering horse trail rides for all ages.
Whale Watching
Southern Right, Bryde and Humpback whales make their appearance from August to October, entering the bay to mate and calve.
